Mechanism of action:
It acts by binding to androgen receptors. After binding to androgen receptors, Target genes are activated, leading to increased translation of proteins, which then increases growth of muscles and tissue repair. Additionally, it reduces breakdown of proteins.
Dosage:
- For men- 200–400 mg weekly ,
- 50–150 mg daily.
- For women :- weekly limit is 50-100mg, 25-75 mg (daily limit)

Medical Uses
Treatment of Muscle Wasting: It is used to prevent wasting of muscles since it reduces breakdown of proteins instead it leads to increased protein translation.
Osteoporosis: It is a condition in which bones loses bone mass and become hollow and weak. This can prevent administration of primobolan.
Non-Medical Uses:
Bodybuilding: Athletes, bodybuilders and weightlifters use it to promote muscle mass, growth and strength. Since it has lower androgenic effects it has lesser side effects.
