Clomid 50 tabs x 50mg is an estrogen hormone antagonist. Athletes experience the double effect of suppressing some estrogen effects with Clomiphene citrate along with increasing the synthesis of testosterone in the body. Bodybuilders consume Clomid to prevent the side effects caused by the partial transformation of steroids into estrogens and to increase the level of testosterone within the body which is inhibited in the treatment of steroids.
Description:-
Active ingredient:- clomiphene.
Clomid tablets are used for the treatment of infertility in women. It induces ovulation in women who can’t produce one.
Its mechanism of action is by mimicking female body estrogen and copies its functions of formation, development and release of an egg from ovaries.
Route of drug administration:- oral.
Recommended dosage:-
For Adults :- 50 mg (1 tablet) daily for 5 days.
Uses:-
- It is used to treat irregular menstrual cycles in women and also those who can’t ovulate. It works by increasing the level of hormones that helps in ovulation and development of eggs.
- It is also consumed by women with polycystic ovary syndromes.
- It also corrects the luteal phase defects that produces difficulty in pregnancy.
Contraindications of Clomid 50 MG:-
- Allergy towards the drug
- History of liver disease/ dysfunction
- ovarian cyst:- clomid may cause further enlargement of that cyst.
- unusual menstrual bleeding.
- If you have a type of cancer that is made worse by hormones.
- Pregnancy/fertility/lactation
Side effects of Clomid 50 MG:-
- Bloating
- Abdominal pain
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Breast discomfort
- Spotting
- Hot flushes
- Hypersensitivity reactions including anaphylaxis and angioedema.
- Eye/Visual Symptoms: symptoms such as blurred vision etc.. increases with increment in dose. Rarely, incidents of cataract and optic neuritis are also observed. Usually, these disturbances are reversible.
- Genitourinary: cases of endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy etc.
- Endocrine related Tumors/neoplasms.
- Central nervous system:- Convulsions, seizures may be predisposed, transient paraesthesia, dizziness. In investigational patients, light-headedness/vertigo, nervous tension/insomnia, fatigue/depression. Psychiatric disorders:
- Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Dermatitis, rashes, urticaria, allergic reaction, ecchymosis and angioneurotic oedema, and alopecia.
- Cardiac disorders: increased heart rate, fluctuating pulse etc..
Drug interactions:-
- Estrogen:- mechanism of action of clomid is by blocking the estrogen receptors therefore concurrent administration of estrogen along with clomid may reduce its effectiveness.
- Gonadotropins: gonadotropin medications (e.g., follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone) can lead to an increased risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (ovaries become enlarged and painful).
- Herbal Supplements: Certain herbal supplements, such as black cohosh or chasteberry, may have estrogenic effects or affect hormone levels, potentially interfering with Clomid’s actions
- Alcohol:- consumption of alcohol along with clomid may increase the risk of side effects.
