It is responsible for occurrence and maintenance of male sexual characteristics thus is used in hormonal replacement therapy. This is a pure form of the androgen – testosterone without any bonded ester thus has a very short plasma half life.
It is used for short purposes such as pre-workout, or during competitions by bodybuilders or weightlifters.
Route of administration is via intramuscular.

- Oily skin prone to acne
- Signs of virilization in women
- Gynaecomastia and tenderness of breasts.
- It is also associated with mood fluctuations, increased aggressiveness, increased libido, and frequent erections.
- Testicular shrinkage
Contraindications: Pharmaqo Test Base 50mg x 10ml
- In cases of elevated percentage of red blood cells in blood ( elevated hematocrit )
- Carcinoma of prostate gland
- In individuals with sleep related breathing disorders
- Congestive cardiac failure and other cardiovascular diseases.
- Urinary tract problems.
Drug interactions: Pharmaqo Test Base 50mg x 10ml
- Testosterone is converted into estradiol by an aromatase enzyme and this enzyme is inhibited by aromatase inhibitors. Thus concurrent administration of both can reduce the estrogenic side effects such as gynaecomastia etc.
- Finasteride, a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor, increases the concentration of testosterone in the body by inhibiting its metabolism.
- Spironolactone which is an antiandrogen blocks the androgenic effects of testosterone base.

- Store in tight containers at temperatures between 20°C to 25°C.
